Minddesk Software GmbH is a German independent software development studio founded by Tim Wesoly. Minddesk focuses on user-friendly voxel tools and is best known for its voxel editor Qubicle.
Back in 2005, before Minecraft was a thing, design student Tim Wesoly had the idea to create 3D models made of single-coloured cubes. (Un)fortunately there wasn't a tool available that could easily create the style he had in mind. So, being a hobby developer since his early childhood days he simply started to create his own tool. The first version called "Qubes" was showcased at his university in summer 2005. The positive feedback made him continue his project.First Official Release
In 2010 the decision was made to go public and officially release Qubicle Constructor 1.0. At that time, there was no budget for any promotion. Nevertheless Qubicle was able to attract a small group of indie developers who discovered the benefits of using voxels for their games.Recent
Today, after 10 years of hard work, Qubicle is the voxel editor that is used by most game developers when it comes to voxels. Some of recent video games wouldn't have been possible without the help of Qubicle, including world hits like Crossy Road and Shooty Skies. After the successful Steam Greenlight campaign in late 2015, Minddesk is happy to release Qubicle 3.0 on the digital distribution platform Steam on April 21, 2016. Another huge milestone in the company's history.

- "To put it bluntly, Qubicle is an amazing tool. The most feature complete voxel editor out there. With its highly flexible UI and ease of use, I'd classify Qubicle as the Adobe of voxel editors. The tool works beautifully for both illustrators and developers, the full package."
- Zachary Soares, Voxel-Artist, Website
- "Qubicle is a pretty fast and fun voxel editor. i eat about 9 Qubicle blocks for breakfast. There's no real reason to use anything else."
- Ben Weatherall, Designer of Cross Road, Website
